Zenfone AR launched in Malaysia at RM3,799

The Asus ZenFone AR has just been launched in Malaysia. The phone is quite an achievement on several levels though its biggest claim to fame is that it is the only phone so far to integrate Tango and Daydream into one device for users to experience both augmented and virtual reality though both platforms work independently of each other.

Tango’s direct application after the shock and awe factor works through your system is the ability to play a selected array of apps and games that let you plonk things like virtual furniture in your living room. before buying them or playing a selection of augmented reality games.

In the case of Daydream, you will need to don a VR headset to experience a selection of virtual environments and games.

Aside from its impressive AR and VR capabilities, the ZenFone AR is an impressive phone in its own right. In Malaysia, the Zenfone AR will come with a 5.7-inch WQHD 2,560 x 1,440 Super AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 821 processor, a whopping 8GB RAM and 128GB of expandable storage.

The rear camera array consists of a depth sensing camera paired with a motion sensing camera for augmented reality applications along with a 23-MP camera that packs a 6p Largan lens, an f/2.0 aperture, optical and electrical image stabilisation and 4K video capture.

The ZenFone AR comes in the only colour you’ll ever need, which in this case is black at RM3,799 at all dealers nationwide this Friday onwards.
