HP’s next-gen Spectre 13 and Spectre x360 notebooks are coming to Malaysia

The HP Spectre series of notebooks are some of the slimmest offerings around that offer looks, exceptional portability and performance in good measure in form factors barely larger than your average latter-day glossy magazine. In a special preview yesterday, HP unveiled two new refreshed additions to their Spectre line-up in the form of the Spectre 13 and the Spectre x360, both of which integrate 8th generation Intel Coffee Lake processors, better battery life and crisper displays while retaining the breathtakingly slim form factor.

HP Spectre 13
The Spectre 13 has a conventional notebook form factor but HP says that it is the world’s thinnest notebook with a touch display on the planet. They’ve gone to bat on the Spectre 13 to shave the weight down without compromising on the Spectre series’ classically good looks as it’s hewn from carbon fiber and machined aluminium while incorporating Corning Gorilla Glass on the display for added durability and micro-edge bezels for more screen real estate without compromising on durability.

The 13.3-inch display comes in up to 4K resolution, a pair of Bang & Olufsen speakers emplaced just above the full-sized, backlit keyboard and, depending on how deep your pockets go, 8th generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, up to a 1TB PCIe SSD and up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM. Endurance isn’t a problem either as the Spectre 13 offers up to 11.5 hours of battery life and can charge from dead zero to 50 percent capacity in half an hour which is about just enough time to finish a cuppa. The Spectre 13 comes your choice of Ceramic White with Pale Gold trim or Dark Ash Silver with Copper trim this December in Malaysia though no prices have been announced as yet.

HP Spectre x360
The HP Spectre x360 comes with a 360-degree hinge that lets you turn the display around and about into a slate at will and it ships with a Windows Ink Certified pen so you can doodle, draw and write much like the real thing with a built-in USB battery that gives you about 200 minutes of usage on a 15-second charge.

HP Spectre 13 x360The rest of the hardware on the HP Spectre X360 is akin to the Spectre 13 in the form of options to include either an 8th generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, up to 16GB DDR3 RAM, up to a 1TB PCie SSD and a 13.3-inch touch display that can be had in up to 4K resolution.
