HTC unveils Desire 12 and Desire 12+ with fullview displays
HTC has just hopped onto the fullview bandwagon with two new affordable offerings from their Desire range of phones that are creatively dubbed the Desire 12 and Desire 12+.
Both the HTC Desire 12 and Desire 12+ differ primarily in terms of their cameras, battery size and displays with the smaller Desire 12 coming with a 5.5-inch, 1,440 x 720 pixel display paired with a rear-facing 13-MP single sensor camera with phase detection autofocus and an f/2.2 aperture while also weighing less at 137g. It also has a 2,730mAh battery juiced via a 5V/1A charger.
The larger Desire 12+ is understandably heavier at 157g and comes with a larger 6.0-inch, 1,440 x 720 pixel display, has a rear dual camera array with a similarly specced 13-MP camera with PDAF and an f/2.2 aperture that is teamed up with a 2-MP camera to capture depth data. The Desire 12+ has a slightly larger 2,965mAh battery too crammed into the casing.
Camera and displays aside, both the Desire 12 and Desire 12+ have similar hardware under the hood with both coming with an Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 octacore paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB of expandable storage and a front-facing 8-MP selfie camera that has a dedicated front-facing LED flash for better selfies in low light.
Both phones will also sport a lustrous reflective acrylic Liquid Surface finish in either Warm Silver or Cool Black. While prices have not yet been revealed, it’s estimated that they’ll likely clock in at under the RM1,000 mark. What is confirmed is that they’ll be arriving in Malaysia sometime this April though telco bundles or preorders have not yet been announced. For more details swing by www.htc.com
