At their latest Galaxy A Event for 2022, Samsung unveiled their additions to their Galaxy A series dubbed the Galaxy A73, the Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A33, all three of which are slated for launch in Malaysia in the near future.
Samsung is best known for their potent Galaxy S series uber phones like the latest flagship Galaxy S22 series phones with their vaunted midrange Galaxy A series also earning equal respect for being among the most powerful, value-packed and effective midrange phones that money can buy that are as, if not more powerful than what other competitors would be issuing as their own flagship phones.
What is the Samsung Galaxy A73, A53 and A33
The 2022 successors to last year’s Galaxy A72, A52 and A32, the new Galaxy A73, Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A32 come with a host of improvements culled from their more famous Galaxy S siblings with additional functionality and quality of life improvements added to the phone.
This time around, the new Galaxy A73, A53 and A33 run OneUI 4.1 on Android 12 and notably feature a Link to Windows mode that allows for easy access to images and documents from the phone on a paired PC.
You also get the addition of Bixby Routines where you can add in a series of macros and shortcuts to automate aspects of the phone like switching on WiFi when you get home.
In keeping with Samsung’s announcement on extended support, the new Galaxy A series phones will all have 4 years of OS support and 5 years of security updates.
Firmware aside, the Galaxy A73, A53 and A33 all feature high refresh rate AMOLED displays, have 5G connectivity, feature massive 5,000mAh batteries and have rear camera arrays equipped with optical image stabilisation for judder free shots.
The camera firmware has also been juiced up and common to the new Galaxy A 2022 series is the addition of Single Take mode that enables users to take a slew of photos and videos with a single press of a button to offer more creative options. That’s not all, the new Galaxy A 2022 series all feature advanced portrait and lighting modes too for more stylish mugshots.
Unfortunately, the new Galaxy A 2022 series have ditched the 3.5mm audio jack and, alas, lack a charger so you’ll have to acquire one for your own. On the bright side, the whole line-up has IP67 dust and water resistance which makes them immensely practical for daily use.
