Casio launches their EX-FR200 and EX-ZR5000 cameras in Malaysia
Casios two latest compact cameras come with rather innovative concepts to make them well worth a glance. The new EX-FR200 comes with a single focus f/2.8 dome lens along with an 11.9-MP sensor paired with a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor that looks somewhat like the Eye of Sauron. Fortunately, it has far more useful utility as one press of a button lets you grab a 180-degree image or, optionally, an all-around 360-degree panoramic view. On top of the rather novel photography mode, the EX-FR200 is also able to take 4K@30fps videos. It’s even waterproof, freeze proof and impact resistant to boot. A 3-inch TFT 921K LCD lets you get about and frame snaps and stills. The FR200 retails for RM2,399.
Also launched at the same time was the EXILIM EX-ZR5000 camera that retains a highly compact form factor while cramming in 5x optical zoom on a 19mm wide-angle lens with F/2.7 aperture. Combined with the digital zoom, the camera is rated for a paparazzi pleasing 39x maximum combined zoom. Of note is that the ZR5000 is able to take snaps in RAW and has a fast 1.2-second boot-up time with, according to Casio, a 0.17 second autofocus speed time along with the ability to snap up to 30 images at 30 frames per second at a time off the camera’s 12-MP sensor. To keep shots steady, the camera also has HS Anti Shake tech that offers five-axis stabilisation. The tiltable 3-inch 921K pixel touchscreen also offers a modicum of selfie taking capability too with the camera retailing for RM 1,949. For more details swing by Casio’s official site here.
