Revamped Huawei MateBook X Pro for 2024 has Intel Core Ultra CPUs; preorders offer RM4,582 in free gifts
If you’re a mobile worker reliant on laptops for work, you’ll likely appreciate that most laptops currently around in the market tend to weigh a kilo or more save for a few rare exceptions.
The new Huawei MateBook X Pro that is now up for preorders in Malaysia is just one such exception as it weighs an absurdly light 980g which is a hair under a kilogram without compromising performance.
Huawei MateBook X Pro Malaysia specifications
This isn’t the first time that Huawei has attempted to push the boundaries in ultraportable design and their prior MateBook X Pro 2022 that we tested was an outstanding ultraportable for its time though it’s a veritable pachyderm compared to how light its successor is.
To achieve this feat, Huawei had to craft the chassis out of magnesium alloy for weight savings. On top of being light, the laptop is also a mind bogglingly 13.5mm thin. To do this, Huawei radically redesigned the internal layout to accommodate the hardware including its hefty Dual Shark Fin cooling fan array to fit everything in.
All well and good but what makes the new Huawei MateBook X Pro so impressive is the fact that they’ve managed to shave its dimensions and weight down substantially but still manage to create a paperwork crunching powerhouse.
In Malaysia, you can either get it with an Intel Core Ultra 7 185H paired with 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD with a White colourway or snag the more powerful version with an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor, 32GB RAM and a 2TB SSD as well as a pleasant looking Morandi Blue colourway.
Both versions have Intel Arc graphics and a 14-inch Flexible OLED touch screen that has a 120Hz refresh rate, 1,000 nits peak brightness and an average average △E<1 colour accuracy. Keeping the refreshed Huawei MateBook X Pro juiced is a 70Wh lithium-polymer battery charged via one of two available Thunderbolt 4 ports.
Huawei MateBook X Pro Malaysia preorder details
This combination of features makes the Huawei MateBook X Pro for 2024 easily one of the most desirable ultraportables that money can buy.
The pickle here though is that Huawei Malaysia hasn’t revealed pricing details yet save for the fact that the preorder programme has commenced and a modest RM70 deposit can snag you up to a whopping RM4,582 in free gifts. The deposit can be made via the HUAWEI Official Website, HUAWEI Official Store on Shopee or the HUAWEI Flagship Store on Lazada. Stay tuned for updates and the official launch where the price will be revealed!
