Refreshed ROG Zephyrus G16 GA605 for 2024 with new AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX370 CPU announced at Computex 2024
The ROG Zephyrus G16 gaming laptop that debuted at CES last year was arguably one of the most desirable gaming rigs on the planet at the time on account of its svelte silhouette that still packs in dedicated NVIDIA graphics and still remains a favourite among well-heeled gamers.
At Computex 2024, the brand revealed in a private event that they have a new incarnation of it that now comes with an AMD Ryzen 9 AI HX 370 processor and the addition of a Copilot key on the keyboard dubbed the ROG Zephyrus G16 GA605.
ROG Zephyrus G16 GA605 2024 upgrades
The upgunned, AI-ready ROG Zephyrus G16 comes with a similar CNC machined chassis as its predecessors with the primary upgrades being the aforementioned AMD processor as well as the latest NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 laptop GPU which has a maximum TGP of 105W with Dynamic Boost enabled.
The rest of the hardware consists of a 16-inch ROG Nebula OLED display with 2.5K (2,560 x 1,600 pixels) resolution with 100% DCI-P3, NVIDIA G-Sync, Pantone Validation, Dolby Vision and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification, making it ideal for content creators on the move.
Running the show is the aforementioned AMD Ryzen 9 AI HX 370 chipset that is capable of offering up to 402 TOPs of AI processing power with 31 TOPS from the CPU and integrated Radeon 800M graphics, 50 TOPs from the AMD Ryzen AI XDNA 2 NPU and 321 TOPS from the aforementioned NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU.
This is paired with up to 32GB LPDDR5X RAM, up to 4TB storage split between two 2TB SSDs depending on region and a 90Wh battery.
Other mod-cons include the latest WiFi 7 connectivity along with Bluetooth 5.4 as well as single zone RGB backlighting for the keyboard which also has a dedicated Copilot key to summon the AI. Keeping the hardware cool is a fiber-and-mesh heat-pipe system with a tri-fan design and their second-generation Arc Flow fans.
