ASUS ROG CES 2023 line-up revealed with revamped Zephyrus M16, Flow X13 and Strix SCAR 2023 gaming laptops
The annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) typically sees ASUS and their gaming offshoot Republic of Gamers showcasing their annual line-up of laptops that run the gamut from work rigs to dedicated gaming behemoths. For CES 2023, ROG took the wraps off the refreshed Zephyrus M16 thin gaming laptop, Strix SCAR 16 and 18-inch variants, an updated Flow X13 and more.
The new ROG CES 2023 gaming laptop line-up primarily features the latest generation 13th Gen Intel processors as well as AMD Ryzen Zen 4 processors and NVIDIA 40 series graphics to handle serious gaming duties.
On top of the customary updates to hardware, ROG is now offering even more premium, gaming-optimised Nebula displays onto a wider variety of models than ever before. ROG has also added rolled up the latest enhancements to their Intelligent Cooling tech in the form of a larger heat sink design and their Tri-Fan tech to ensure that their gaming rigs have the best balance of cooling and noise control for sustained heavy gaming duties
ROG CES 2023 – ROG Strix SCAR 16, Strix SCAR 18, Strix G16, Strix G18

Oddly inspired by the SCAR assault rifle that came in both a light and heavy variant and which are used selectively by certain operators, the latest generation ROG Strix SCAR 16 and the slightly larger SCAR 18 are their heaviest, highest performing gaming laptops with 13th Gen Intel Core i9 13980HX processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 mobile GPUs with 175W TDP.
This time around at ROG CES 2023, the displays for both laptops now have a tallet 16:10 aspect ratio and rejigs the bezels and design to accommodate it with the 16-inch variant featuring an option for a 240Hz Nebula HDR Mini LED display with QHD resolution. Other upgrades include more robust cooling for the CPU and GPU with the aforementioned Tri-Sink and Intelligent Cooling tech on top of Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal applied to both the CPU and GPU.
Slightly lower down the totem pole are the Strix G16 and Strix G18 which have the same i9 13980HX CPU and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 laptop GPU. There’s no official word on pricing or availability just yet for Malaysia but we’ll keep you posted.
CES 2023 – ROG Zephyrus M16, Zephyrus G16, Zephyrus G14
The updated Zephyrus M16 for 2023 is their premier slim and light gaming laptop with a 16-inch QHD Nebula HDR Display with Mini LED tech as well as 1,100 nits of peak brightness and a 240Hz refresh rate. The top lid of the laptop also notably hosts an AniMe Matrix LED lighting array to show icons, images and whatnot as their whim and fancy dictates.
Other additions to the Zephyrus line-up for 2023 include the Zephyrus G16 with 16-inch QHD 240Hz Nebula HDR display, an Intel Core i8 13900H CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU with MUX Switch and NVIDIA Optimus.
Another option is the Zephyrys G14 which has 14-inch Nebula HDR display with 504 dimming zones and 100% DCI-P3, an AMD Ryzen Zen 4 CPU, up to an NVIDIA RTX 4090 mobile GPU with an MUX Switch and NVIDIA Advanced Optimus.
The Zephyrus Duo 16 gaming laptop also gets an upgrade with a 16-inch Mini LED panel up top, a 4K touchscreen at the bottom, an AMD Ryzen Zen 4 CPU and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPU with MUX Switch. At the time of writing, ROG did not furnish more detailed specifications, pricing or availability but we’ll keep you posted.
ROG CES 2023 – ROG FLOW X13, FLOW X16
The refreshed update for the ROG FLOW X13 is slightly smaller but has an AMD Ryzen Zen 4 CPU, up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 laptop GPU, up to 32GB LPDDR5 RAM and a larger 75Wh battery. It also features a QHD, 165Hz Nebula Display with a 360-degree hinge.
Higher up the totem pole is the ROG Flow X16 which has an Intel Core i9 13900H CPU, up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU and a Nebula HDR Mini LED touchscreen with 240Hz refresh rate. Both FLOW series gaming laptops also have the option to dock with the XG Mobile external GPU that offers a leg up in processing power with up to a TGP 175W for a mounted NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPU.
