HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 Pro, WATCH GT 5 and WATCH Ultimate Green Edition launched in Malaysia
HUAWEI has unveiled their latest generation smartwatches in Malaysia that have improved durability, enhanced fitness and health tracking and for the first time, emotional wellbeing tracking performance too.
Spearheading the new generation of HUAWEI 2024 smartwatches is the HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate Green Edition along with the new HUAWEI WATCH GT5 Pro and WATCH GT 5 smartwatches, all of which feature a variety of premium materials in their design. HUAWEI also deployed a new MatePad Pro 12.2-inch in Malaysia that has a revamped keyboard case, 3rd gen M-Pencil stylus and a variety of other enhancements too.
HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 Pro, WATCH GT 5 features
The new HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 Pro comes in a 46mm version with a titanium case and matching titanium straps or black fluoroelastomer straps while the WATCH GT 5 Pro 42mm features a ceramic body and either ceramic or white fluoroelastomer straps.
The more mainstream HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 46mm has a stainless steel case and is available in brown leather, light blue composite material or black fluoroelastomer while the WATCH GT 41mm which also has a stainless steel case comes with either white or light blue fluoroelastomer straps or a brown composite strap.
In terms of battery life the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 Pro is rated for up to 14 days of battery life while the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 is rated for up to 7 days of battery life.
Of note with the new HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 series is the introduction of their new HUAWEI TruSense System that offers enhanced health monitoring capabilities that include heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep tracking and, for female users, menstrual cycle tracking too.
The HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 series also integrated the sophisticated HUAWEI Sunflower Positioning System for superior positional accuracy and tracking even in difficult terrain with 40% better route accuracy which makes it ideal for outdoors runners.
Another key feature with the new HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 series including both the WATCH GT 5 Pro and WATCH GT 5 is a new Emotional Wellbeing Assistant that relies on a variety of physiological signals including heart rate variability and skin temperature to offer condensed image of a panda that shows overall emotional wellbeing as well as solutions like mindfulness exercises to improve their mood.
The new HUAWEI WATCH GT5 Pro also notably has the same golf course mode with real-time data and insights into personal golfing performance as well as a trail running mode.
The new green coloured variant of the ultra premium HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate, that they’ve dubbed as the HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate Green Edition hosts a stunning emerald green bezel embellished using a nano-tech ceramic process to create a truly unique looking finish that sets it apart from other timepieces. It also features sapphire glass and a zirconium based liquid metal watch case.
Like its other WATCH Ultimate siblings, the Ultimate Green Edition version is impressively tough with 100 metres of water resistance and is designed for diving with a high definition LTPO display, controls optimised for divers and a variety of straps.
Of note with the new Green Variant is the inclusion of next generation golf course maps with detailed data of 180 major golf courses in Malaysia and abroad. Each golf course map covers truly deep data insights on each golf course ranging from topography to real-time wind speed and direction data to gain a decisive edge on the green.
The HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 PRO also has the golf course maps feature too. For those who own the prior WATCH Ultimate watches in black or blue will get the latest updates in November 2024 to keep pace with the Green Edition.

At present, preorders for the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 series and HUAWEI WATCH Utimate Green Edition are open starting from 26 September and are ongoing till 4 October 2024 with a host of free gifts worth up to RM528 that include FreeBuds 5i wireless earbuds and a 1-year APAC region warranty.
The HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 comes in 41mm and 46mm sizes with prices that start from RM1,099 while the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 PRO comes in 46mm and 42mm sizes with prices that start from RM1,399.
Preorders for the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 PRO and WATCH GT 5 are available on the Huawei official website, the Huawei official store on Shopee and the Huawei official flagship store on Lazada.
The top of the line HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate Green Edition will be available for preorder priced at RM3,799 and can be preordered at the same locations as the GT 5 series including their official website, Shopee and Lazada.
