New realme 13 series phones for mobile gamers launched in Malaysia; prices start from RM1,199

realme has just released their realme 13 series of gaming phones in Malaysia that consist of the realme 13 and the realme13+ that aim to offer an accessible mobile gaming experience with prices that start from RM1,199.

The new realme 13 series all have 5G connectivity and what the brand refers to as a GT Mode gaming mode that ensures optimised gaming performance on selected games including Free Fire, Honor of Kings, Mobile Legends Bang Bang and Player Unknown Battleground for up to 7 hours.

In terms of hardware, the realme 13+ has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate and a peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits. Powering the phone is a Dimensity 7300 Energy processor running Android 14 under the hood paired with 12GB RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage.

The rear sports a primary 50MP main camera using a Sony LYT-600 sensor with OIS and a secondary depth sensor while the front has a single 16MP selfie camera. Keeping the phone powered is a 5,000mAh  battery with 80W wired fast charging. Also of note is that the realme 13+ has an IP65 dust and water resistance rating.

For those with more modest budgets, the realme 13 has a slightly larger but less vibrant 6.72-inch LCD display that can also achieve a 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the phone is a slightly more modest MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage.

On the rear is a single 50MP camera with OIS while the front has a single 16MP camera for selfies and video calls. Keeping the phone juiced is a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging. The realme 13 does have slightly more modest water resistance though with an IP64 dust and splash resistance rating. realme 13 series price in Malaysia

In Malaysia, the realme 13+ is available in your choice of either gold or purple colourways with the 12GB RAM/256Gb storage variant retailing for RM1,399 and the 12GB RAM/512GB storage variant for RM1,799.

The realme 13 is available in either green or purple in only one configuration (12GB RAM/512GB storage) for RM1,199. In terms of availability, the realme 13+ will be available from 19 October onwards while the realme 13 will hit retail from 1 November onwards.
