Time to rock and roll – new Sonos Play portable speaker lets you bring the party with you
Sonos has rolled out a unique experiential pop-up where visitors can check out their latest speakers the Sonos Play and the Era 100 SL in all their glory from now till 15 April 2026.

The roadshow also offers up to 25% off selected Sonos products and will have both of the aforementioned speakers available including larger ones intended as home centerpiece setups like their Sonos Arc Ultra and Sub 4.

Sonos Play specs
The Sonos Play is a wireless portable speaker that’s a step above the Roam 2 in size and loudness while offering seamless connectivity and a measure of portability with a rather chassis that resembles a squashed cylinder with rounded corners along with a wraparound plastic grille emblazoned with the Sonos logo on the side.

One helpful addition to Sonos Play is a rubber loop that lets you hang the speaker in places you traditionally would never have placed a speaker which adds to its versatility. Of note is that the chassis itself has an IP67 dust and water resistance rating which means it can survive light splashes of water.

To kick out a surprising measure of sound for its size, the Sonos Play has two angled tweeters and a woofer though Sonos hasn’t provided specifics as to the exact specifications of these drivers. Other mod-cons include Bluetooth 5.3, WiFi 6 and support for Apple Airplay 2.

Where Sonos is bringing their old mojo back is that the Sonos Play can seamlessly pair with another Play via Bluetooth to create a stereo pair. In terms of battery life, the Sonos Play is rated for 24 hours per charge.

In Malaysia, the Sonos Play is priced at RM1,899 and comes in your choice of either black or white colourways. The Sonos Era 100 SL which is similar to the variant we tested save for the omission of AI assistant capabilities retails for RM1,099. For more details check out https://my.tcacoustic.asia/
