Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 series tablets for portable productivity launched in Malaysia; prices start from RM5,649

Like clockwork, Samsung has rolled out the latest additions to their premium Galaxy Tab series slates for Malaysia in the form of the new Galaxy Tab S12 series that consist of the new Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and the Galaxy Tab S12 Plus that add in an array of freebies and gifts to make them portable productivity platforms.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 series specs 

Both the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12 Plus tablets run on the same MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor and come with 12GB RAM as well as 256GB of storage with additional storage via a microSD card slot up to 2TB in size.

The Ultra and Plus also both run Android 17 overlaid with One UI 9 that comes with a host of preloaded productivity and content creation apps along with a guaranteed seven years of OS and security updates. Both tablets also have quad-speaker arrays flanking the display as well as an IP68 dust and water resistance rating.

Where they differ is in terms of display sizes, cameras and battery sizes. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra hosts a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 1,600 nits peak brightness and 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut.

For imaging duties it has a rear 13MP and 8MP ultra wide angle camera setup with a single 12 MP camera up front while a 11,600mAH battery keeps it juiced. There’s no wireless charging but it does have 45W wired fast charging.

The Galaxy Tab S12 series tables ship with an S Pen stylus and a Book Cover slim keyboard for instant productivity straight out of the box.

The smaller Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Plus comes with a 12.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 2,800 x 1,752 pixels resolution, up to a 120Hz refresh rate, a similar 1,600 nits peak brightness and 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut. However, it has just a single 13MP camera on the rear with a similar 12MP front camera as the Ultra model on the front for selfies and video calls. Keeping things running in the Plus model is a 10,600mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging.

For Malaysia, the Galaxy Tab S12 series will ship with a bundled S Pen stylus and the slim Book Cover keyboard that protects the tablet and lets you hammer out paperwork on the go.

This time around, buyers of the Galaxy Tab S12 series will get four months of free Adobe Photoshop access, one year of free access to Goodnotes, six months of free access to Notability as well as a six-month trial of Clip Studio Paint. 

In terms of availability, Samsung will offer the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and the Galaxy Tab S12 Plus in WiFi-only and 5G-enabled versions and your choice of either Gray or Silver colourways for either configuration starting from 7 October 2026 at all Samsung Experience stores and outlets nationwide. For Malaysia, units are all configured with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage as mentioned.

The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra WiFi variant costs RM5,999 while the 5G version is RM6,649. The Galaxy Tab S12 Plus with WiFi only is RM4,999 while the 5G model is RM5,649. On top of the free and trial app subscriptions that are worth a collective RM1,123.58, customers will also get a free Book Cover Keyboard and S Pen worth up to RM1,208.
