Acer reveals new Predator Atlas 8 gaming handheld with Intel Arc G-series CPU

Acer has just announced that they’re throwing their hat into the ring for gaming handhelds and have revealed their latest offering under their Predator marque, dubbed the Predator Atlas 8.

What is the Predator Atlas 8 gaming handheld?

The Predator Atlas 8 can be equipped with an Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor with Intel Arc B390 graphics that offer ray tracing support and Intel XeSS 3 AI-powered upscaling to maintain frame rates even during demanding gaming experiences.

Another variant is also available with an Intel Arc G3 processor depending on region. You also get up to 24GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to a 1TB SSD off the one PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD (2280) slot. Keeping the handheld powered is up to an 80W battery for gaming on the go.

To keep all this hardware cool, the handheld has a dual-fan cooling system, the first used in a handheld. While one fan is plastic, the second is made of metal and features 89-blades at just 0.1mm thickness per blade for better cooling.

Up front, the Predator Atlas 8 has an 8-inch WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200 pixels) touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate, 500 nits peak brightness, VRR support and a tall 16:10 aspect ratio with the Gorilla Glass Victus with DXC protection. The DXC coating helps to mitigate scratches and reduce glare. Flanking the display are two 2W speakers and you also get two mics with Acer Purified Voice support.

Connectivity options are solid with two Thunderbolt 4 ports and a microSD card slot for more data. It also sports Intel Killer WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

At present there’s no pricing or availability yet for the Predator Atlas 8 for Malaysia and what we have to go on are the official press renders but it will likely make an appearance at Computex 2026 that’s happening in early June. We’ll keep you posted.
