Acer rolls out budget Swift 1 notebook with the essentials for RM2,199
Acer’s Swift 1 notebook is a notebook pared down to the essentials to make it ideal for students or someone on a tight budget though both situations are often mutually inclusive. For a tad just over two grand and change, you get for your money a rig with a 13.3-inch 1080P LCD, an Intel Pentium quad-core N4200 processor running Windows 10 Home, 4GB of DDR3 RAM and a 128GB SSD. Other mod-cons include 802.11 ac Wi-Fi with MU-MIMO support, a USB Type C port, a HDMI out, a pair of USB 3.0 ports and Windows Hello support with a built-in fingerprint reader.
The Swift 1 is relatively light and portable at 14.95mm thin and 1.3kg so it’ll slide quite nicely into a backpack for a day’s worth of lectures without inducing back pain and has enough pixel crunching punch to run through most paperwork demanded of an aspiring scholar with web browsing and videos thrown in (for educational purposes) though casual gaming will be a stretch. The 3,770mAh battery offers ten hours of battery life which ought to be more than sufficient to last through a full day’s worth of tutorials. It also retains a few luxuries like an all-metal casing that gives it quite a posh look.
The Acer Swift 1 is now available in Malaysia at RM2,199 in Salmon Pink, Luxury Gold and Sparkly Silver at select authorised Acer resellers nationwide.
