Acer’s slim Predator Triton 700 and Orion 9000 gaming rigs land in Malaysia
Acer’s latest Predator Triton 700 gaming rig aims to blend svelteness and performance in one exceptionally slim package. The notebook comes in two subconfigurations. Both have a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display. Both variants of the Triton 700 also have an Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, Acer TrueHarmony speakers beefed up Dolby Atmos sound tech, an exquisite RGB-backlit N-Key Roll Over mechanical keyboard and exceptional cooling even under a heavy gaming load via the incorporation of a pair of their unique Aeroblade 3D cooling fans and five copper heat pipes. An interesting addition to the Triton 700 is the inclusion of a Corning Gorilla glass sheathed touchscreen panel located just above the keyboard as opposed to the usual position at the base of the keyboard. The clincher is that they’ve managed to cram all this into a casing that’s just 18.9mm thin.
Where both configurations of the Triton 700 differ is in terms of their memory, storage and GPU. The higher specced Predator Triton 700 PT715-51-74MY comes with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX1080 with MAX-Q design graphics card with 8GB of GDDR5X VRAM, 32GB DDR4 RAM and a pair of 256GB NVMe PCie SSDs in RAID 0 configuration. The 15.6-inch 1080P display also has a 120Hz refresh rate and NVIDIA G-Sync support. The other variant, designated the PT715-51-775U integrates 16GB DDR4 RAM, a 256GB SSD and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX1060 card with 6GB of dedicated GDDR5 VRAM. The display on this lower specced but still highly capable variant has a 60Hz refresh rate on its 15.6-inch 1080P display.
The higher specced Triton 700 with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX1080 card retails for RM13,999 while the more affordable variant with a GTX1070 retails for RM999.
