New tough Asus Chromebook CR11 Flip convertible now in Malaysia from RM1,789

The unique properties and robust nature of Chromebooks make them ideal for use by students and to meet the needs of kids in Malaysia, Asus has released the new Chromebook CR11 Flip convertible that can transform from a laptop into an 11.6-inch tablet on demand thanks to its 360-degree hinges.

In keeping with its intended demographic, the Asus Chromebook CR11 Flip is built tough to military-grade standards with an all-round rubber bumper to withstand drops and dents, an antimicrobial coating to inhibit bacterial growth across its surface, a tamper-proof spill-resistant keyboard that can shrug off up to 405cc of liquids, a raised rubber safety grip to ensure that it is easy to hold as well as a rated MIL-STD-810H level of durability that enables it to survive up to 120cm drops to the deck. 

Under the hood, the convertible hosts ChromeOS with full access to the Google Play store and Google Workspace for Education apps and has full access to the Chrome Education Upgrade for easier fleet management.

The Asus Chromebook CR11 Flip also hosts a rear camera and another positioned just above the keyboard for video calls, packs fast WiFi 6, a pair of USB-C ports, a pair of USB Type-A ports, a microSD card reader, an audio combo jack and a Kensington Lock slot. It is also rated for 12 hours of battery life on a single charge.

In Malaysia, the baseline version of the Chromebook CR11 Flip with 4GB LPDDR5 RAM and 32GB eMMC storage retails for RM1,789 while a higher end 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 64GB eMMC variant is available for RM2,099.
