Asus crowns the new King of Mobile for 2018
Mobile gaming is all the rage and Asus Malaysia is riding that wave to glory as they’ve just wrapped up their second Asus King of Mobile tournament in Malaysia. Created in collaboration with local techsite Pokde.net, the grand tournament saw gamers duking it out to be the last man standing in the gaming equivalent of an ironman triathlon.
The one-day tournament took place at the MyTown Shopping Mall in Cheras and saw some 80 gamers gathering together to vie for the championship. Much like the Highlander, the order of the day was that ‘There Can Be Only One!’. Unlike last year’s KOM tournament that saw gamers competing across 4 games, this time around participants focused solely on Battle Royale-esque Free Fire Battlegrounds, which was played on the Zenfone Max Plus M1, their latest workhorse phone that sports a huge 4,130mAh battery.
While the initial rounds were team-based with players grouped into squads of 4 to whittle their numbers down, the grand final saw the last few players in a grand free-for-all to determine the winner. After the dust settled, one Abdul Malik walked away with a Zenfone Max Plus M1, the KOM trophy and a host of gaming swag too. Runner-ups Azwan Radzali, Noor Alif Danial and Siti Aisyah also walked off with a host of goodies.
