Asus Vivobook S 15 S5507 and Zenbook S 16 UM5606 with Copilot Plus AI on preorder in Malaysia; priced from RM6,299
Fresh from being unveiled on the showroom floor at Computex 2024, Asus has revealed that they will be launching their first Copilot Plus AI laptops in Malaysia – the Asus Vivobook S 15 S5507 with the latest Snapdragon X Elite chipset as well as the Asus Zenbook S 16 UM5606 which packs the latest AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX370 chipset.
Packing Copilot Plus AI, both laptops offer a Recall mode to find stuff you’ve tossed on your SSD no matter how obscure, create Live Captions during video calls, turn doodles into actual art using Cocreator as well as the ability to generate ideas, write or summarise content on demand.
Asus has also integrated their StoryCube content hub that lets users consolidate and manage digital assets as well as sort content based on location, date, people via facial recognition and even perform a modicum of light photo editing too.

The other Copilot Plus AI ready laptop launched by Asus in Malaysia, the Asus Zenbook S 16 UM5606 comes with a larger 16-inch 3K (2,880 x 1,800 pixels) Lumina OLED touch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 and 500 nits HDR peak brightness along with Pantone validation.
Running under the hood is the spanking new AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 2.0GHz processor with AMD Radeon 890M graphics that’s rated for up to 50 TOPS, 32GB LPDDR5X RAM and a 1TB SSD. Keeping it laptop is a 78 Whr battery that can be charged via a 65-W USB-C adaptor. Keeping all the hardware cool is a vapour chamber complemented by dual fans with a 28W TDP without throttling while keeping the noise under 25dB for light work.
Like prior Zenbook designs, the new Zenbook S 16 UM5606 takes advantage of their patented Ceraluminium coating process to create a unique matte finish bisected by a series of chromed metallic strips on the top lid. The laptop also has a robust MIL-STD 810H rating.
Bundled with the laptop is a free backpack, a free copy of Microsoft Office Home and Student 2021, a free 1-year Microsoft 365 Basic subscription, a free 1-year McAfee Antivirus and a USB-A to RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet dongle.

Both the Asus Vivobook S 15 S5507 and Zenbook S 16 UM5606 are available for preorders in Malaysia starting from today until 9 July 2024 with those who preorder either laptop getting a 4-port 100W GaN USB charger along with a 1-year extended warranty worth RM698.
According to Asus, the Vivobook S 16 S5507 will be on store shelves from 12 July 2024 onwards while the Zenbook S 16 UM5606 will be available to purchase from 29 July 2024.
