Lock and load – Black Ops 7 confirmed and inbound for summer 2025
In a break with tradition, Treyard and Raven Software are bringing in Black Ops 7 rather than skipping a year. Following straight on from Black Ops 6 released just last year, Black Ops 7 takes place almost 40 years after the events in the prior game and follows the events of Black Ops 2.
Rather than a Cold War or post-modern vibe, Black Ops 7 is set in 2035 with a sci-fi aesthetic that includes significant integration with combat drones in almost all aspects of warfare and more modern looking weapons. The game itself features you in the shoes of David Mason and his crew against a new threat, which is hinted at in the trailer to be longtime nemesis Raul Menendez.
The short teaser trailer shows a variety of weapons and combat drones that will appear in the game. There will be a Co-op campaign, the usual multiplayer with new maps and a return to Round-based Zombies. Beyond that, there’s precious little details save that the game will be arriving in summer later this year and that it will be available on last gen consoles as well.
Officially, Black Ops 7 will be arriving on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation® 5, PlayStation® 4, and on PC via Xbox PC, Battle.net and Steam as well as Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
