Dell Latitude 9510 spearheads new Latitude laptop and 2-in-1 line-up in Malaysia
Dell’s reliable line of Latitude laptops have been mainstays for many companies over the years though they lacked a certain amount of style which is where their new ultra premium Latitude 9000 series notebooks come into the picture. Revealed earlier this year at CES 2020, the Latitude 9510 and its siblings in the 9000 series are now available in Malaysia, combining top-shelf specs and a premium design befitting captains of industry.
According to Dell, the ultra-premium Latitude 9510 comes in conventional clamshell notebook and 2-in-1 formats and are currently the lightest 15-inch business laptops on the planet with a carry weight of 1.4kg, while packing in a 15.6-inch display in a 14-inch form factor on account of their almost bezel-less InfinityEdge displays that shave both side, top and bottom bezels down to almost nothing.
What makes the 9510 unique this time around though is that Dell has included a unique new Dell Optimizer AI that dynamically adjusts settings in the background including battery charging behaviour to offer the best possible battery life and laptop performance possible.
If you’re constantly on the move, Dell Optimizer prioritises quick charges on the battery and optimises your most frequently used apps. If you’re mostly a desk jockey, they slow down your charging when wired in to extend your battery life cycle. This comes at no cost and radically extends battery life. According to Dell, the Latitude 9510 is rated to offer up to 34 hours of battery life on a single charge.
Dell Latitude 9510 specifications
Like other Latitude series notebooks, the Latitude 9510 is highly configurable and is made to spec with a host of configurable choices for both the hardware and security options so pricing is a bit hard to mention but according to the official Dell Malaysia website, prices start from RM7927 and up. Options exist for a SIM card slot for true remote connectivity and the series has the option to include a fingerprint reader or an IR camera for enhanced security.
In terms of hardware, the Latitude 9510 laptop comes with a 15.6-inch Full HD non-touch display while the 2-in-1 variant has a Full HD touchscreen with Active Pen stylus support. Either variant can be equipped with up to Intel COre i7 vPro CPUs, up to 16GB DDR3 2,133MHz RAM, Intel UHD graphics, up to a 1TB SSD and up to a 6-cell 88WHr polymer battery.
Specifications are one thing but what makes Dell’s Latitude series a winner, especially if you manage fleets of them for a company is the brand’s Dell Technologies Unified Workspace system that allows harried IT managers to do a host of things to make it easier to get the job done like preconfiguring and shipping company laptops straight from the factory without having to sit down and install it on their own, easier remote management and Dell’s own robust ProSupport that ensures 24/7 access to save your bacon when the things hit the fan. That kind of peace of mind for a business is worth almost any price.
