Honor becomes best selling brand in China Double 11 Sales and its best-selling honor 7x phone is coming to Malaysia
Since its inception, honor has come into its own as a highly competent purveyor of phones that offer high-end specifications without the commensurate price tag such as the premium honor 8 Pro released earlier this year and the recent budget honor 6A Pro though their soon to be released honor 7X will be taking the limelight when it arrives on Malaysia’s shores on 12 December next month.
While the honor 7X has yet to make an official appearance in Malaysia, it has already debuted in China with an impressive showing out of the starting gate at the recently concluded Double 11 sales. For the uninitiated, the one-day sale celebrate singlehood and result in a frenzy of buying with billions of dollars in sales.
As a brand, honor outdid itself in China with the one-day Double 11 sale resulting in over 40 million honor devices sold in the country alone on a host of online e-tailer platforms such as JD and TianMao. Total sales for honor in this years Double 11 sale exceeded last year’s figures by a significant margin with the vaunted honor 7x taking the lead as one of the best selling phones sold during the Double 11 sale.On honor’s flagship store on Tianmao, the brand saw over a million RMB in sales in just 2 minutes and 34 seconds and two million RMB in sales in just 6 minutes and 32 seconds; an enviable achievement that saw it earning the distinction of being the fastest smartphone company to break the RMB one million dollar mark and also the only smartphone company to have sales revenue higher than Apple. This staggering number of phones handily pipped Apple to the post and saw Honor earning the enviable honour of being the best Double 11 smartphone brand of 2017. This exceptional interest in honor’s offerings, in particular their soon to be launched honor 7x is echoed in Malaysia with immense interest from a host of potential buyers on social media who were asking when the phone will arrive in the country ahead of its launch this 12 December 2017.
The honor 7x is a unique first for the brand on many fronts as it is their first ever phone with an 18:9 aspect ratio screen that measures in at 5.93-inches while packing a 1,080 x 2,160 pixel resolution display sheathed in 2.5D glass. The fingerprint reader, which is usually rear mounted on honor phones retains its position just beneath the rear dual camera array which combines a 16-MP snapper with a 2-MP secondary camera for depth of field snaps. The front also has a single sensor selfie camera.
Under the hood, the honor 7x comes with a Kirin 659 2.36GHz octacore processor, 4GB RAM and up to 128GB of expandable storage with the phone running Android 7.0 Nougat with their EMUI 5.1 user interface. All this is crammed into a machined aluminium casing that (globally) can be had in a matte black finish, gold, blue and red that is 7.6mm thin. Keeping things powered is a 3,340mAh battery.
There’s no official price as yet ahead of the Malaysia launch nor what colours will be available locally but the phone retailed in China at RMB 1,300 (about RM803) for the 32GB variant, RMB1,700 (about RM1050) and RMB2,000 (about RM1,236).
