HONOR announces Gaming+ update to HONOR View20 at MWC 2019
HONOR is starting the year with a bang with the release of their flagship HONOR View20 smartphone in Paris which boasts of some impressive hardware at a reasonable price tag. At Mobile World Congress 2019, HONOR also unveiled a unique update for their flagship HONOR View20 that enhances gaming performance dubbed Gaming+ technology.
Available as a free downloadable firmware update, Gaming+ offers a host of improvements across the board that enhance the efficiency and power of the built-in Kirin 980 processor. According to HONOR, the new Gaming+ tech update improves SoC energy efficiency by 20.34%. The update also harnesses the AI in the Neural Processing Unit (NPU) to monitor frame rate per second, image quality and touchscreen input in real time and addresses performance bottlenecks with load prediction accuracy per frame onscreen 30% better than existing techniques. The end result, according to HONOR is the ability to high tier games like Fortnite in an exceptionally smooth fashion.
On the home front, the HONOR View20 was dubbed “Best Selling Flagship Smartphone” by Senheng Malaysia after selling 1,000 phones in the first weekend of sales after its official roadshow debut at 1 Utama mall earlier this year on 26- 27 January 2019. Globally, the HONOR View20 has achieved equally laudable results with it being dubbed a sales and sales revenue champion on online platforms in the RMB 3,000 and above category in China while in France, it scored ‘Amazon’s No.1 Best Seller in the EUR499 category and above for smartphones.
