Budget Honor X8b and Honor X7b now in Malaysia priced from RM799

The Honor X8b budget phone is now officially priced at RM999 while its siblings the Honor X7b is available for RM799 in Malaysia with nationwide availability from 22nd December 2023 onwards. Just to sweeten the pot, buying either phone also gets you a free pair of Honor Choice Earbuds X5 Lite worth RM139 for free which adds quite a bit of value when you get either of Honor’s latest phones.

The Honor X8b has a higher quality 90Hz AMOLED display while the Honor X7b uses a 90Hz LCD display. Both use the same Snapdragon 680 chipset for equal performance.

To recap, the Honor X8b is intended as a budget phone but one with quite a few interesting features. For starters, it has a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED 90Hz display with a front-facing 50MP selfie camera for mugshots. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 680 processor and has 8GB RAM with a massive 512GB of onboard storage. The rear hosts a triple camera array that consists of a primary 108MP camera, a 5MP ultra wide angle snapper and a 2MP camera. Keeping the whole affair powered is a 4,500mAh battery with 35W wired fast charging.

The Honor X7b quaintly is bigger and beefier with a 6.8-inch FHD+ LCD 90Hz display and a massive 6,000mAh battery with 35W wired fast charging though the front selfie camera is a more modest 8MP sensor. The phone also uses a Snapdragon 680 processor with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. A dual camera island design on the rear hosts a 108MP primary camera, a 5MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro camera.
