Huawei Mate X7 launched in Malaysia for RM8,688; preorders get RM7,597 in free gifts

Huawei has officially launched their Mate X7 book-style flagship foldable, the Huawei FreeClip 2 wireless earbuds, the Huawei Watch Ultimate Design Royal Gold Edition and the Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro Honma Edition in Malaysia.

In terms of pricing, the Huawei Mate X7 is priced at RM8,688 in Malaysia and is available for preorder starting from today with preorder customers getting RM7,597 in free gifts.

The free gifts consist of a Huawei Watch 5, a Huawei MatePad 11.5 tablet, a Huawei Care+ with 1-year 1-time screen protection as well as a trade-in rebate worth up to RM2,000. As an added bonus, owners of the Huawei Mate X7 also get free benefits from the Huawei AppGallery worth up to RM3,069 that consist of partner deals, discounts on selected products and more.

In terms of hardware and design, the Huawei Mate X7 is a book-style foldable with an external 6.49-inch OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, FHD+ resolution and a protective later of scratch resistant Kunlun Glass 2. You also get a single 8MP camera inset into a punch hole up top.

The inner foldable display consists of an 8-inch OLED foldable display with 2,210 x 2,416 pixels resolution that has a single 8MP f/2.2 camera for selfies and video calls.

Powering the Huawei Mate X7 is a Kirin 9030 Pro processor running EMUI 15 paired with 16GB RAM and 512GB of storage with apps sourced off the aforementioned Huawei App Gallery. Keeping the phone powered is a 5,600mAh battery with 66W wired charging, 50W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.

For imaging duties the Huawei Mate 7 has a rear triple camera array that has a 50MP f/1.5 – F/4,0 main camera with changeable aperture and OIS. This is paired with a 50MP f/2.2 telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom as well as a 40MP f/2.2 ultra wide angle camera.

Belying its design, the Huawei Mate X7 is built tough with a three-layer composite structure that reinforces the inner screen from impacts as well as IP58 and IP59 dust and water resistance.

Also launched was the Huawei FreeClip 2 that combines a C-bridge design and robust drivers to offer all-day comfort. In Malaysia, it retails for RM699 inclusive of a RM50 rebate at the official Huawei website, Shoppe as well as Lazada stores and the Huawei TikTok shop.

The latest Huawei Watch Ultimate Design Royal Gold Edition variant also made its official debut priced at RM13,999 that is functionally similar to its other colourway variants but is blinged up with real gold.
