Laptops with touchscreens are typically a luxury reserved for pricier, higher end designs but the new Huawei Matebook 14 2023 notebook not only clocks in at under RM4,000 but also packs a touchscreen too. At present, the laptop is now up for preorders in Malaysia at a special price of just RM3,299.

What is the Huawei MateBook 14 2023

In essence, the MateBook 14 2023 is akin to the MateBook 14 launched awhile back save for the addition of a new touchscreen and double the RAM to make it faster to swap apps. At retail, the MateBook 14 2023 costs RM3,999 and has the aforementioned 14-inch IPS 2,160 x 1,440 pixel resolution display which has a 3:2 aspect ratio and 300 nits peak brightness as well as a 60Hz refresh rate. 

Powering the laptop is a modest but proven 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor paired with 16GB DDR4 RAM and a 512GB NVMe PCIe SSD with a 56Wh Lithium Polymer battery to keep it ticking along. This workload is more than sufficient for coursework and general computing.

Additional mod-cons include a USB-C port for charging and to output the display to an external monitor, a HDMI port and a pair of USB 3.2 Gen1 x2 ports as well as a 3.5mm audio jack.
