Huawei MateBook D 14 2023 and MateBook 16s 2023 laptops coming to Malaysia priced from RM3,199
Alongside their new Huawei nova 11 series smartphones, Huawei Malaysia has refreshed their laptop lineup with a more powerful MateBook 16s 2023 intended for power users and a revamped MateBook D 14 2023 that’s designed for more mainstream users. Both laptops will be available in Malaysia from 15th July 2023 onwards with prices that start from RM3,199.
Huawei MateBook16s 2023 specs and price
The Huawei MateBook 16s 2023 is a refreshed version of last year’s successful MateBook 16S with an array of meaningful upgrades all around. Of note is an upgraded 16-inch 2.5K IPS (2,520 x 1,680 pixels) True Colour touchscreen of its predecessor that’s colour calibrated for accuracy and which is brighter than before with a peak brightness of 400 nits on top of retaining 10-point multitouch.
Another additional upgrade is Huawei’s own Metaline Antenna array within the chassis that ensures more stable WiFi 6 connectivity along with their AI Camera and AI Noise Cancellation that ensures clear audio and video on the laptop itself when shooting the breeze in teleconference calls off its built-in 1080p camera.
Under the hood, the MateBook 16s 2023 has the customary array of upgrades to keep it current including a beefy 13th Gen Intel Core i9-13900H processor paired with Iris Xe graphics, 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD.
Keeping the laptop powered is a 84Wh battery rated for all-day performance. In Malaysia, the MateBook 16s 2023 will be available from 15th July 2023 onwards and those who buy it before 13th August 2023 will get RM1,358 in free gifts that include a one-year subscription to Microsoft Office 365, a backpack and their Sound Joy soundbar. Huawei MateBook D 14 2023 specs and price
The refreshed Huawei MateBook D 14 2023 is a laptop built for general purpose computing that retains a similar chassis as its predecessor while refreshing the hardware from its earlier 2021 predecessor.
You get a 14-inch 1080p IPS display with a tall 16:10 aspect ratio to better tackle paperwork while featuring the ability to fold completely flat, a 12th Gen Intel Core i5-1240P processor with up to 20W TDP paired with Intel Iris Xe graphics, either 8GB or 16GB LPDDR4X RAM and a 512GB SSD.
Keeping it powered is a 56Wh battery with an accompanying 65W USB-C fast charging brick. Connectivity is relatively current with WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity. The MateBook D 14 2023 also has a similar Metaline Antenna upgrade like the MateBook 16s 2023 built into its chassis to ensure stable WiFi connectivity over longer distances.
In Malaysia, the MateBook D 14 2023 with 8GB RAM/512GB storage retails for RM3,199 while the higher end 16GB RAM/512GB storage model costs RM3,399 with a slated availability date of 15th July 2023.

At RM3,199, you get a relatively large and tall 16:10 aspect ratio laptop with enough performance for standard grunt work like emails, YouTube and the like which is plenty for students and most desk jockeys and the deluxe model adds a surfeit of RAM which lends it a bit more utility.
