IFA 2024 – Acer reveals Project DualPlay concept gaming laptop, Nitro Blaze 7 gaming handheld and more
Even with the array of new laptops, projectors, laptops, tablets and more that Acer revealed at IFA 2024, they’ve still left plenty of surprises including a spanking new concept design dubbed Project DualPlay, a new Nitro Blaze 7 gaming handheld and even a new tablet too!
Acer Project DualPlay Concept Gaming Laptop Details

If you’ve ever wanted a means for someone to play alongside you in a game on the same console or gaming PC like in the old Street Fighter series of yore or in co-op, Acer’s Project DualPlay concept gaming laptop for their Predator series is arguably the closest anyone has come to making the idea a reality.
While it is essentially a huge gaming laptop, the Project DualPlay concept design has a huge touchpad that doubles as a detachable wireless controller. Better yet, this detachable controller can split apart into two joysticks which is a jaw-dropping feature indeed. That’s not all, this also triggers two 5-watt speakers to pop out from the sides for richer audio. Needless to say, there’s no pricing, specifications or any confirmation that Project DualPlay will even make it to market but it is something that will hopefully see production!
Acer Nitro Blaze 7 Specs and Price
While competing brands have already launched their gaming handhelds in the market like the ROG Ally X and the MSI Claw, Acer has been taking notes and have now debuted their Nitro Blaze 7 gaming handheld that aims to be the one handheld to rule them all.
Also designated as model GN771, the new Acer Nitro Blaze 7 gaming handheld comes with a 7-inch FHD IPS touch display with AMD FreeSync Premium and a 144Hz refresh rate, is powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor with Ryzen AI and up to 39 AI TOPS, has 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 2TB storage and AMD Radeon 780M graphics.
Keeping it juiced is a 50Wh Li-Polymer battery and the handheld itself has a pair of 1W speakers along with an audio jack with storage expandable via a microSD card slot. As you’d surmise, the Nitro Blaze 7 runs Windows 11 under the hood but Acer has added their Game Space app that lets you curate your favourite games from multiple platforms into one interface/app for easy access. Much like the rest of their kit unveiled at IFA 2024, there’s no confirmation when and how much the Nitro Blaze 7 will cost if it comes to Malaysia but odds are good that it will do so.
Acer Iconia X12 Specs and Price
On top of a new concept gaming laptop and a gaming handheld, Acer saved the best for last – a large productivity tablet dubbed the Iconia X12. The Acer Iconia X12 has a 12.6-inch 2.5K AMOLED 60Hz display with a peak 400 nits brightness, runs the latest Android 14 on a MediaTek Helio G99 processor paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage expandable via a microSD card slot.
The rear comes with a 13MP camera while the front has an 8MP camera with the whole affair powered by a 10,000mAh battery that has quick charging support.
