Infinix NOTE 50X and NOTE 50S phones with 5G launched in Malaysia; prices start from RM699
Alongside their beefy NOTE 50 Pro+ 5G, Infinix has also launched two additional phones dubbed the NOTE 50X 5G and the NOTE 50S 5G that cater to different budgets with prices that start from RM699.
Infinix NOTE 50X 5G specs and price
The Infinix NOTE 50X 5G is the more affordable of the two new phones and has a quaint scent infused into the faux leather finish for the Sea Breeze Green colourway, though it also comes in a more conventional Titanium Grey and Enhanced Purple colourway.
In terms of hardware, the phone has a 6.67-inch IPS LCD HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultimate chipset running the show paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and an additional optional 8GB of virtual RAM assigned off the 256GB storage as well as a 5,200mAh battery with 45W wired charging. Like its other siblings the Infinix NOTE 50X 5G also has DeepSeek AI baked in, accessible via a dedicated side-mounted shortcut button.
On the imaging front, the Infinix NOTE 50X 5G has a modest single 50MP rear camera that nixes OIS to keep costs down and a single front-facing 8MP camera. Of note with the phone is an IP64 splash dust and splash resistance rating as well milspec MIL-STD810H drop resistance rating. In Malaysia, the phone retails for RM699.
Infinix NOTE 50S 5G specs and price
The slightly larger Infinix NOTE 50S 5G has a bigger and sharper 3D-curved 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 which also has 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, runs the same Dimensity 7300 Ultimate chipset as the smaller and cheaper Infinix NOTE 50X 5G and uses slightly faster 8GB RAM LPDDR5X along with up to an additional 8GB virtual RAM off the built-in 256GB of non-expandable storage. The phone also has a DeepSeek AI baked in accessible via a shortcut button on the side like the Infinix NOTE 50X 5G.
The rear has a slightly more capable 64MP main camera with autofocus paired with a 2MP macro camera while the front has a single 13MP selfie camera. The phone also has a similarly sized 5,200mAh battery with 56W wired charging too.
Hardware aside, the Infinite NOTE 50S 5G is priced at RM899 in Malaysia and comes in your choice of Titanium Grey, Ruby Red and a similar Marine Drift Blue that has a scented faux leather finish with all variants featuring IP64 dust and splash resistance and a similar Milspec MIL-STD810Hdrop resistance rating as its cheaper sibling the NOTE 50X 5G. While stocks last, purchases of the 50S get a free phone strap worth RM49.
