Lenovo’s P51s ThinkPad workstation gets refreshed with Kaby Lake processors
Lenovo has rolled out a product refresh across their ThinkPad range with new Kaby Lake processors that integrate a host of welcome benefits including support for USB-C Gen 2 ports, integrated GPUs that can better tackle 4K video and better multitasking duties too.
Their revamped P51s workstation comes in at the top of the list of their refreshed product line with enough pixel crunching grunt to tackle even the most demanding applications while remaining portable. The refreshed ThinkPad P51s sports an Intel Core i7-7600U 3.9GHz processor, 16GB DDR4 RAM and a 512GB NVME OPAL SSD running Windows 10 Pro. The display itself can be ordered in a number of different configurations starting from 15.6-inch Full HD 250 nits non-touch display all the way to a 4K UHD, 3,840 x 2,160 pixel, 300 nit display panel.
What makes it stand out is the fact that it is also inordinately durable with milspec grade toughness that allows it to survive extremes of humidity, temperature, sand, altitudes, mechanical shocks and more that would render other rigs into scrap metal while retaining a relatively slim 20mm and a 1.9kg weight that makes it still relatively man portable. Prolific button pushers will appreciate that the P51s also has what they call Power Bridge tech, allowing for users to hotswap the built-in batteries as needed in the field away from the mains. The ThinkPad P51s ships starting from RM6,999 in mid-July from selected authorised dealers nationwide in Malaysia. For more details swing by Lenovo Malaysia’s official site at www.lenovo.com/my/en
