Seasoned gamers will recall that the Blade 16 debuted last year at CES 2023 with the ability to swap between two screen resolutions – a razor sharp UHD+ 120Hz for movies and content creation and a smoother FHD+ 240Hz for gaming though this requires a laptop reboot to swap modes.

For the new Razer Blade 16 for 2024, they’re now offering a new display option in the form of a 16-inch 240Hz OLED display made by Samsung with 2,560 x 1,600 pixels resolution, 0.2ms response time, a full DCI-P3 100% colour gamut as well as DisplayHDR True Black 500 and VESA ClearMR 11,000 certification which makes it deal for content creators. Optionally, you can slap on the prior UHD/FHD Mini LED display option for an additional US$1,700.

Display aside, the new Razer Blade 16 comes in multiple GPU options though all configurations are built around the Intel Core i9-14900HX. You can get up to 96GB RAM, up to an 8TB SSD and your choice of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 with max 140W TGP as the base model with the RTX 4080 with a peak 140W TGP and the RTX 4090 with an impressive 175W TGP are also available for an additional cost.

Keeping it all cool is an enhanced cooling solution that utilises dual 44-blade cooling fans,  a vacuum-sealed copper chamber and 72 of the world’s thinnest exhaust fins which are 0.5mm thin to better shunt heat away from critical areas.

Common across all variants of the new Razer Blade 16 is a 95.2WHr lithium-polymer battery with either an improved 280W or 330W GaN power adaptor that leverage Gallium Nitride tech to make them 60% smaller and more compact.

In terms of pricing, the Razer Blade 16 is available in your choice of a black or off-white Mercury paint job priced from US$2,999.99 which works out to about RM14,340 though there’s no official availability in Malaysia just yet. For more details, check out their global page at
