Also announced and launched at the same time as the OnePlus 11 5G are their new OnePlus Buds Pro 2 TWS earbuds that come in matching colours as the phone’s official black and green colourways though the earbuds designate these paint jobs as Obsidian Black and Arbor Green. Our OnePlus Buds Pro 2 unboxing sample came in a matching shade of Arbor Green as our OnePlus 11 unboxing unit.

OnePlus Buds Pro 2 Unboxing – What’s in the box?

The charging case of the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 is rectangular in shape with the earbuds nestled within lying flat in the case. Their attention to detail is impressive with the silicone eartips finished in a matching colour as the charging case.

By default, the medium sized ear tips are pre-installed on the earbuds though the small and larger sized ear tips are available in a neat looking tray elsewhere in the packaging. Also bundled in the box are a short charging cable finished in red and the usual warranty and quick start literature.

On paper, the earbuds are also rated for IP55 dust and water resistance while the case itself is IPX4 which means it is modestly splash proof.

Acoustically tuned by Dynaudio, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 has an 11mm and 6mm driver in each earbud for bigger, richer sound while a trio of mics in each earbud help to filter out wind noise, enhance noise cancelling and help with clear voice calls.

On paper, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 are rated for up to 25 hours of usage with ANC on inclusive of the charging case and 39 hours with ANC off with a 10-minute charge offering 3 hours of listening time. Charging it is via a USB-C port or wireless charging.

On top of beefy hardware, the earbuds are crammed with a slew of additional tech such as the LHDC 4.0 codec for seamless, Hi-Res lossless audio streaming and their Audio ID 2.0 tech that scans a user’s inner ear canal with sound waves and conducts a listening test to offer a customised audio profile.

It also integrates Google’s Spatial Audio tech for immersive sound staging wherever you turn your head so that it feels like you’re in the middle of a music performance or a firefight for content with 5.1 audio or better. That’s not all, as it also has active noise cancellation up to 48dB with selectable intensity levels and has the ability to seamlessly pair up with two devices and swap between them simultaneously.

At first blush, our OnePlus Buds Pro 2 unboxing sample looks rather posh indeed with a premium looking metallic finish though it feels rather light when held as it’s primarily made of polycarbonate. Much like other branded wireless earbuds, you’ll need to install the HeyMelody app to customise its higher functions.
