New realme 16T 5G with huge 8,000mAh battery yours for RM1,299

Alongside the realme 16 5G which has a slim chassis melded with a large 7,000mAh battery, realme has also launched a slightly more affordable design with a larger battery designated as the realme 16T 5G.

When compared to its sibling the realme 16 5G, the realme 16T 5G has a larger. lower resolution display and a larger capacity battery while being thicker and a bit heavier. Up close, the realme 16T 5G weighs 224g and is about 8.88mm thick while packing a 6.8-inch LCD display which isn’t as vivid or colour accurate as the AMOLED display used in the realme 16 5G. Fortunately, it’s also more affordable too and clocks cheaper than the realme 15 5G’s RM1,499 price tag.

The display is also a bit lower resolution with 1,570 x 720 pixels though it has a faster 144Hz refresh rate and a quote 1,200 nits peak brightness. For protection, it uses what they refer to as Panda1681 glass. The display also has a pair of stereo speakers that allow for up to a 400% volume boost.

Running under the hood of the realme 16T 5G is a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. The phone also has a 5300mm² vapour chamber to keep it cool even during demanding tasks.

The rear camera hosts a single 50MP f/1.8 main camera with a Sony IMX852 sensor paired with a single 2MP mono camera. Like the realme 16 5G, the realme 16T 5G has a rounded mirror that allows users to use the rear camera for selfies. The front has a single 16MP f/2.4 camera for selfies and mugshots. 

Keeping the realme 16T 5G powered is an 8,000mAh battery rated for about two days of battery life along with 45W SUPERVOOC wired charging. realme has also assured that the battery will enjoy a 7-year battery healthy guarantee.

Of note with the realme 16T 5G is that it has a military-rated shock resistance against modest drops to the deck as well as an IP69K dust and water resistance rating.
