ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X now available in Malaysia from RM2,699
Republic of Gamers (ROG) have officially launched their latest gaming handhelds the ROG Xbox Ally and the ROG Xbox Ally X in Malaysia.
Designed in collaboration with Xbox, the two new gaming handhelds are upgunned variants of the ROG Ally X and ROG Ally that Asus has released previously with a revamp to their design in the form of more ergonomic contoured grips on the side and better hardware running under the hood.
ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X Specs and Price in Malaysia
As mentioned earlier, the new ROG Xbox Ally X and ROG Xbox Ally have the aforementioned contoured grips on the side with the former coming only in black and the latter only in white. Barring the different colourways, both designs have the same 7-inch IPS LCD 1080p display that has a 16:9 aspect ratio, a 120Hz refresh rate and 500 nits peak brightness. Both models also feature AMD FreeSync Premium.
Where they differ is that the ROG Xbox Ally X packs more powerful hardware versus the ROG Xbox Ally. In terms of hardware, the more powerful ROG Xbox Ally X comes with an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor along with what they refer to as an onboard NPU for games that support it in the future, 24GB LPDDR5X RAM, 1TB storage and an 80Wh battery with 65W wired charging.
The handheld also features a USB 4 with Display Port 2.1 and Power Deliver 3.0 that’s also Thunderbolt 4 compatible along with a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C port, also ith Display Port 2.1 and PD 3.0 support as well as a microSD card reader and audio jack. This sets you back RM4,299.
In the case of the ROG Xbox Ally, you get an AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor paired with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB storage with a slightly smaller 60Wh battery that also has 65W wired charging.
While it also has a microSD card reader and audio jack, the handheld has a slightly slower but still effective pair of USB 3.2 Gen 2 type C ports with DisplayPort 2.1 and Power Delivery 3.0 support.
