Samsung is rolling out the Galaxy Enhance X app on the Galaxy S23 series and Galaxy Z Fold4

While great shots are typically the norm when you’re using a Samsung Galaxy S23 series flagship phone and Samsung’s current generation Galaxy Z series foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold4, you sometimes need to tweak a shot just a bit more for best effect which is where the new Galaxy Enhance X app comes into the picture that uses the power of AI to enhance and upscale shots.

What is the Samsung Galaxy Enhance X app

In essence, the Samsung Galaxy Enhance X app is a free to download photo editing app on the Samsung Galaxy store for Samsung phones that is simple to use and leverages AI to enhance an image with a simple tap of a button.

At present, it is available for the Samsung Galaxy S23 series phones which consist of the Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 as well as the Galaxy Z Fold4 at the time of testing though it will likely be deployed to older Galaxy S series phones later down the line.

The magic of the Samsung Galaxy Enhance X app is that it makes editing photos vastly easier especially for those who are as skilled at digitally tweaking images. At a top level, the app is able to refine visual noise, clean up blur and optimise highlights, shading, brightness and contrast while also enhancing dynamic range. The main area of input for a user is how intense you want to dial the enhancements and for lower resolution shots under 1MP, the app is able to upscale up to four times for better results. 

The app also has a Fix Moire and Remove Shadows function along with the ability to enhance grainy old physical polaroids and photos with its Old Photo Tool to bring new life to those shots like in your cabinet.
