Samsung Galaxy SmartTag+ helps you keep track of your stuff; now available at a special RM109
Announced earlier on at Galaxy Unpacked 2021 where they revealed the Galaxy S21 series phones, the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag+ are now available in Malaysia priced at RM109 for one tag.
The general premise of the SmartTags is that you slap it onto items that you want to keep track of like your backpack, keychain or check-in luggage to allow you to find it via Samsung’s SmartThings Find service on a Galaxy series phone.
The more sophisticated sibling of the Galaxy SmartTag that was released a few months earlier, the Galaxy SmartTag+ has both Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and ultra-wideband (UWB) technology for more accurate location tracking and the ability to use augmented reality (AR) to guide you via your phone towards it with precision.
Where it gains its impressive powers is that the SmartTag+ can co-op the power of nearby Galaxy devices and seeing as Samsung phones are one of, if not the most prolific brand in Malaysia, it’s a likely thing. Once you report a SmartTag+ and whatever you bolted it onto as ‘missing’, nearby opted Galaxy devices will help to collectively report it with encrypted, protected data known only to the owner – you – to help you find it in short order.
