Samsung has revealed details for the Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy Z Flip7 FE and Galaxy Z Fold7 Malaysia prices that start from RM3,999 and up for the base 128GB storage model of budget Galaxy Z Flip7 FE topping out at RM9,899 for the top of the line Galaxy Z Fold7 1TB variant.

Revealed at the global Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event in New York, the new flagship foldable line-up is centered around the aforementioned Galaxy Z Fold7 that enjoys the most attention and upgrades.

The successor to last year’s Galaxy Z Fold6, the new flagship Galaxy Z Fold7 foldable has made impressive leaps in thinness, performance and in a host of other areas too with the use of a redesigned and sturdier Armor Flexhinge mechanism, tougher Corning Gorilla glass Ceramic 2 for the front cover display, Advanced Armor Aluminium for the chassis and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for the backplate

You get a thinner, lighter chassis that weighs just 215g, a larger and wider front 6.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and an 11% larger 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X 120Hz main display compared to the older Fold6, a flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor and – finally- a massive 200MP main camera flanked by a 10MP telephoto and 12MP ultrawide angle camera for a serious imaging setup on the rear.

The front and inner selfie camera are both 10MP models and this time around, Samsung has opted for a punch hole for the inner main camera rather than the invisible but low resolution under display camera used in the Fold6. Camera aside, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 sticks with a 4,400mAh battery; the same used in the Fold6 but optimisations to the phone aim to offer equivalent or better endurance.

Charging is the same with 25W wired charging and wireless charging too as well as reverse wireless charging as the outgoing model. What is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 FE?

The Galaxy Z Flip7 is the successor to last year’s Galaxy Z Flip6 and notably has a larger cover display that now encompasses almost the entirety of the front panel, a larger battery and runs on the Exynos 2500 processor rather than Snapdragon silicon this time around.

Of note is that Samsung has redesigned the hinge, now designated as an Armor FlexHinge to make it slightly thinner with the front display and backplate protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 with the whole affair weighing slightly more than the Flip 6 at 188g by 1g but is slightly thinner at 13.7mm when folded down.

The Galaxy Z Flip7 this time around offers up a larger 4.1-inch Super AMOLED FlexWindow that almost spans edge to edge with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 2,600 nits peak brightness. The main display itself is larger, spanning 6.9-inches diagonal and is a Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a 120Hz refresh rate.

As mentioned, the Galaxy Z Flip7 uses the Exynos 2500 chipset, has 12GB RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of onboard storage while running Android 16 and One UI 8. For the first time ever in a Flip series phone, Samsung has activated DeX mode, letting users pair it to a monitor to turn it into an adhoc PC in tandem with a keyboard and mouse. Like the Fold7, the Flip7 has 7 years of guaranteed OS and security updates.

The cameras are the same as its predecessor with ISP improvements so you get a 50MP primary and a 12MP ultra wide angle camera doing most of the grunt work with an inner 10MP selfie camera on the main folding display for video calls. The larger 4,300mAh battery is rated for up to 31 hours of video playback time and the phone supports 25W wired charging, wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 FE is intended as an affordable foldable phone and is, in essence, a revamped Galaxy Z Flip6 with much of the same chassis and cameras at a lower price point.

You get a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED (720 x 748 pixel) cover display, a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 2,640 x 1080 pixel resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, a 50MP and 12MP dual camera setup as well as a 10MP selfie camera embedded in a punch hole in the main folding display. Powering the phone is an Exynos 2400 processor and the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE features 8GB RAM with either 128GB or 256GB of storage.

Running under the hood is the latest Android 16 and OneUI 8 with 7 years of OS and security updates. The phone also features a smaller 4,000mAh battery with 25W wired charging, wireless charging and reverse wireless charging and the chassis has IP48 dust and water resistance. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 FE as well as the Galaxy Z Fold7 Malaysia preorders start from 10.00PM till 31 July 2025 with general availability for all three models from 1 August 2025 onwards. for preorders, customers will be able to redeem up to RM390 in e-vouchers for those who have completed registration of interest to get their Samsung Reservation+ voucher and customers are able to get a tempting RM600 rebate if they choose to upgrade their storage from 256GB to 512GB when they preorder during this period.

In terms of pricing, there’s been a general markup of about RM500 for the Galaxy Z Fold7 series for all configurations for the official RRP though the Galaxy Z Flip7 retains similar pricing as last year’s models – innovation does cost money after all.
