Samsung launches Galaxy Tab S3 and Galaxy Book at MWC 2017
While the Galaxy S8 will not make an appearance at MWC 2017, they still had something to show: the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 and a productivity-oriented Galaxy Book.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 only comes in one size variant but in two different colours – silver or black – along with two different variants – Wi-Fi only or with LTE connectivity. In terms of design, the Tab S3 is all rounded edges with a flat, smoothly machined rear. The front is taken up by a fingerprint reader at the base and a 9.7-inch QXGA Super AMOLED Display. The slates will all come with a free S Pen stylus that has a clip and a 0.7mm tip beefed up with Wacom’s latest stylus tech for better responsiveness. The Tab S3 also has four speakers at each end of the tablet tuned by AKG by Harman which are able to adjust their output based on whether you’re using it in portrait or landscape mode. Paired with this great audio, the Tab S3 also packs Samsung’s Game Launcher that was seen on the Galaxy S7 along with Vulkan API support for a smoother gaming experience.
In terms of hardware the Tab S3 comes with a Snapdragon 820 quad-core 2.15GHz+1.6GHz processor running Android 7.0 Nougat paired with 4GB RAM, 32GB of storage and expandable storage of up to 256GB. The rear camera has a 13-MP sensor with autofocus while the front has a 5-MP camera. A 6,000mAh battery powered by a USB 3.1 port and fast charging support offers exceptional battery life. In terms of optional accessories, the Tab S3 comes with an optional Pogo keyboard that latches onto it landscape style via a connector on the side of the tablet and Staedler is also making an optional S Pen in the shape of their famous pencil though the Tab S3 will ship with a Wacom S Pen stylus out of the box.
