The massive 85-inch Neo QLED 8K QN900C TV now in Malaysia priced at RM43,699 with free soundbar

If you live by the adage that big is best, you’ll appreciate exactly what the new Samsung Neo QLED 8K QN900C TV has to offer as it’s not only massive, spanning at 85-inches for its largest model but also packs an absurdly crisp 8K resolution panel for jaw-dropping visuals along with the upscaling tech to make existing content fabulous all across its huge expanse. Now, it along with its 75-inch and 65-inch siblings are now officially available in Malaysia after their preorder programme a few weeks ago.

Fresh off its CES 2023 debut, the 85-inch QN900C QLED 8K TV’s panel uses Neo Quantum HDR 8K Pro technology that features 1.5x smaller, denser Mini LED arrays for more nuanced blacks, brilliant brightness and precise colour rendition to the tune of 33.1 million pixels.

That’s not all, it also has their AI-powered Neural Quantum Processor 8K that ensures content is upscaled pixel-by-pixel on the fly to 8K for more immersive viewing on top of a bevy of other imaging enhancements like Auto HDR remastering, Real Depth Enhancer Pro and Perceptional Colour Mapping to make content look their best by ensuring brighter highlights, clearer image details and vivid hues onscreen. Even dodgy, lower resolution older content gets a new lease of life when upscaled and viewed on the Neo QLED 9K QN900C.

Where it trumps the competition are its nigh invisible bezels on its sides that manage to hide a 6.2.4 channel speaker system with an integrated woofer capable of up to 90W sound. Unlike competing tellies that typically mute a TV’s speakers when a soundbar is paired up to them, the QN900C 8K TV has what Samsung refers to as Q-Symphony tech, allowing a paired Samsung soundbar to seamlessly pair up with the existing integrated speakers to form an even deeper, wider and richer soundscape.

Gaming isn’t neglected either as the Neo QLED 8K QN900C TV has a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, FreeSync Premium Pro support to mitigate screen tearing and Motion Xcelerator Turbo Pro tech for smoother graphics onscreen. Needless to say, you get what you pay for and the 85-inch Neo QLED 8K QN900C TV retails for a jaw-dropping RM43,699 but at launch, Samsung is issuing it with a free Q-series HQ-Q990C soundbar from their own foundries worth RM6,499  which goes quite some way to mitigating the daunting price tag.

Slightly lower down the totem pole, are the Neo QLED 8K QN800C (RM32,699), the Neo QLED 8K QN700C (RM18,199) and the 65-inch Neo QLED 8K QN700C (RM15,199), all of which have slightly smaller built-in speaker systems and slightly thicker bezels while getting free soundbars too with the 85-inch QN800C getting a matching HW-Q8000C worth RM3,999 and the remaining QN700C TVs getting a HW-Q700C soundbar worth RM2,999.
