Samsung SmartThings now has 100 million Find nodes across the globe
It is an incontrovertible fact that no matter how careful we are, we are still prone to losing stuff which is why Samsung’s SmartThings Find service which launched in October 2020 is an absolute lifesaver.
Now, the service has over 100 million find nodes across the world and according to Samsung, over 230,000 devices be it phones or their increasingly ubiquitous SmartTags and the items they are attached to, are found through this feature every day. Needless to say, it’s even easier than ever if you get in on the Samsung ecosystem to find your stuff if it ever goes missing.
What is Samsung SmartThings
Needless to say, Samsung SmartThings has come in extremely handy. The service is able to find Samsung Galaxy smartphones, smartwatches, earbuds, the new S Pen Pro stylus and anything that’s attached to the Galaxy SmartTag or SmartTag+, relying on a combination of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and ultra-wideband (UWB) tech to find missing gear even if it’s offline by getting other Galaxy phones nearby to opt-in to find it.
Now, Samsung has added extra utility to SmartThings with the addition of a SmartThings Find Members which allows up to 18 friends and family to join a Samsung user’s SmartThings account to manage and find up to 200 Samsung devices at a time.
“We’re incredibly proud of how quickly the SmartThings Find service has grown in less than a year, helping people all over the world locate hundreds of thousands of misplaced devices every day,” said TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics. “SmartThings Find is yet another example of how Samsung is continuing to create meaningful new experiences that help make life more convenient and less stressful.” For more on Samsung SmartThings, check out their official page at https://www.smartthings.com/partners/smartthings-find
