New Sony Imaging Edge webcam app turns your Sony camera for live streaming and videocalls
The new normal has certainly changed how we work with a renewed importance on working from home and an emphasis on video calls. Seeing this rather unique circumstances, Sony has just released a desktop app called Imaging Edge webcam that hooks up to your Sony camera to turn it into a webcam.
The Imaging Edge Webcam app allows you to use any of 35 Sony camera models to undertake live stream and perform video call duties after hooking it up to your PC via a USB cable. Needless to say, using a Sony camera for video calls and live streaming is a massive bump up in the quality of your videos from relying on a dinky webcam.
To date, the Imaging Edge Webcam app only works on Windows PCs and the list of supported Sony camera models covers the gamut from their new Alpha 7S III, their recently released ZV-1 vlogger cam, multiple variants of the RX100 including the Mk VII and V, the RX0 II and RX0, the Alpha 9 II, Alpha 9, Alpha 7R IV and more.
