The Honor 8 Pro is coming to Malaysia this July
Honor has carved out a reputation of offering serious bang for the buck with their recent Honor 6x being one of the cheapest dual camera phones in the local market. Their latest phone the Honor 8 Pro continues that legacy and adds to it.
In terms of hardware, the Honor 8 Pro packs a 5.7-inch Quad HD display with a razor sharp 515 ppi sheathed in Corning Gorilla Glass. The phone runs the latest Android 7.0 Nougat with their current EMUI 5.1 user interface on a HiSilicon Kirin 960 octacore processor and Vulkan API support for high-end gaming and VR content. The Kirin 960 is one of Huawei’s best processors and sees service on their P10 and P10 Plus smartphones.
The Honor 8 Pro’s dual rear camera array consists of a pair of 12-MP snappers, one of which has a mono sensor and the other a conventional one in colour for sweet mono shots and, combined, shots with delightful bokeh. The Honor 8’s front camera packs an 8-MP sensor with an F/2.0 aperture. Depending on region, the Honor 8 Pro ships with up to 6GB RAM and 64GB of expandable storage though Honor Malaysia hasn’t mentioned which configuration will be sold here. What colour variants and when the phone is available for preorder have yet to be determined but it will officially arrive in Malaysia this July. We’ll keep you posted on developments.
