The rumours are true – the indestructible Nokia 3310 is back
While it was the last to be announced, it was also the most eagerly anticipated at the Nokia launch for their new handsets at MWC 2017. The venerable Nokia 3310 is back with a redesign and an upgrade. The revamped 3310 is strictly a feature phone but has quite a few enhancements that put it light years ahead of its predecessor.
For the price of entry of about 49 Euros (about RM230), you get a slightly redesigned exterior that’s curvier than its predecessor in one of four different colours – a staid blue, a standard looking gray along with an orange and a bright yellow option too.
The screen up front is now in colour and the rear even has a 2-MP camera. Other refinements include a 3.5mm audio jack, expandable storage via a microSD card slot, charging via a microUSB port and ridiculously long battery life with a month of standby time. It lacks quite a few mod-cons we take for granted – there’s no Wi-Fi though you can get slow 2.5G Internet and you can play a revamped version of the iconic game Snake but that’s about it.
It’s not going to blow other phones out of the water but for those with pangs of nostalgia or the need for a simple, expendable back-up phone, this looks like it’ll fit the bill nicely. No word on a Malaysia launch but we want one right frakking now.
