[Free Stuff] Limbo the platformer free on Steam today and tomorrow
When it was launched back in 2010, Limbo was the celebrated poster child of a new wave of platformers. Rather than involving the usual gun-heavy hijinks so beloved of shooters of the time or hopping about collecting random junk like coins or rings, Limbo had you as a mysterious unnamed boy wandering around in a monochromatic phantom landscape filled with disturbing shadows and silhouettes of objects including a humongous killer spider. Arachnophobes had the shock of their life with this particular game and while it had its fair share of carnage and proved to be a fairly short experience (seasoned platformers can finish it in three or so hours), it was also one of the most eerily beautiful and disturbing offerings to ever hit almost every platform known to gaming.
Now, it’s free for today and tomorrow on Steam. If you haven’t downloaded Steam yet, swing by www.steampowered.com and make an account, add Limbo to your account and you get to keep this bizarre gaming gem for life.
