Horror adventure Ghostwire Tokyo coming to PS5 and PC this 25th March 2022

If you’re looking for a horror title to get your goosebumps up, you’ll likely like the unique twist that Tango Gameworks and Bethesda have come up with dubbed as Ghostwire:Tokyo that is slated for a debut on the PS5 and PC this March 25th 2022.

What is Ghostwire:Tokyo

The game takes place in a strange, deserted version of Tokyo that has encountered a strange magical apocalypse of sorts that has emptied the city of people but has filled it to the brim with a host of nightmarish monsters from Japanese urban folklore and legend.

You pay as one of the sole survivors of this nightmare and have to figure out just what happened and how to get yourself out of this mess through exploration and a healthy dose of magical powers.

Fortunately you’re not all alone in this debacle and you’re symbiotically paired with a mysterious spirit called KK that gives you magic abilities.

If you’ve watched any of the old Hong Kong 80s or 90s horror movie classics you’ll likely encounter the elaborate hand gestures to summon special magical abilities to banish evil spirits and you’ll be doing that a lot in the game.

On top of magical abilities that they’ve dubbed as Ethereal weaving to tackle the hordes of evil spirits around the place, you’ll also have to use talismans and other weapons to take the fight to the enemy.

The hordes of horrors taking you on range from headless schoolgirls, creepy giggling kids in raincoats to Slendermen clones with umbrellas and worse. Naturally, offing these mooks also gets you experience that helps build your skill tree for better abilities.

Fortunately it’s not all doom and gloom and you’ll have a host of encounters in the sandbox that is Tokyo with friendly souls that you can help out as well as Torii gates to purify to make the city safer. At present, PS5 players who preorder the Deluxe Edition of Ghostwire: Tokyo will get early access on 22nd March and a free Streetwear Outfit pack, Shinobi Outfit and a Kunai weapon.

When will Ghostwire: Tokyo be available
