ROG Ally Z1 Extreme gaming handheld coming to Malaysia priced at RM3,299

The ROG Ally Z1 Extreme variant has been officially launched in Malaysia with ASUS Republic of Gamers announcing in a live stream that it will be on sale at retail stores nationwide from 1st July 2023 priced at RM3,299.

What is the ROG Ally Z1 Extreme?

For what you pay for, you’re getting the most powerful and versatile gaming handheld in the market. Packing a 7-inch FHD 120Hz touchscreen, a custom AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme CPU, 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of expandable storage via a microSD card, the ROG Ally Z1 Extreme variant runs Windows 11 and, by extension, almost any Windows game on the Steam, Epic, GOG or Ubisoft game stores without issue. 

We’ve previously reviewed the ROG Ally Z1 Extreme variant and it does not disappoint with the ability to run Cyberpunk 2077 on the go and other triple-A games without issue on modest to low settings. The fact that you stream the feed to an external monitor with a keyboard and a mouse via a dock makes it a portable gaming console in every sense of the word. A cheaper variant exists with a slightly less powerful processor but at the time of writing, Malaysia will only have one variant – the aforementioned top of the line ROG Ally Z1 Extreme with the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme CPU.

At launch ROG will be offering up the ROG Ally Travel Case at RM199 to protect it when you’re on the move and the ROG Gaming Charger Dock with HDMI 2.0 at RM299 for when you want to hunker down and get some serious gaming done. 

On the dot, on 19th June 2023 at 8.30PM Malaysia time, you can also purchase a value-packed  ROG Ally bundle priced at RM1,299 which consists of the ROG Cetra wireless, the ROG Ally Travel Case, a screen protector, the ROG gaming charger dock and a 9-month PC game pass. If you need heftier pixel crunching power, ROG is also offering the XG Mobile external GPU housing with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 mobile GPU for RM9,999. Alternatively, you can get the XG Mobile with an RTX 3080 GPU for RM7,999 though if you’ve already purchased the ROG Ally, you can get it at an additional RM2,000 discount, paring the price down to RM5,999. 

You can also get a ROG XG Mobile version with RX 6850M XT graphics for RM6,999 and if you purchase the ROG Ally, you can also get it at an RM2,000 discount, paring the price down to RM4,999.
