New Sharp Purefit air purifiers for Malaysia revealed in ‘Japanese Living To Your Home’ showcase

Sharp Malaysia has recently hosted a special ‘Japanese Living To Your Home’ showcase where the brand revealed their latest array of Plasmacluster Ion (PCI) equipped Sharp Purefit series air purifiers and other air purifier series models in multiple sizes and form factors that are now available for purchase in Malaysia.

Taking place at the exquisitely appointed IKAN Residence in Janda Baik, Pahang which commanded gorgeous views of the nearby mountain range amidst the refreshing mountain air, Sharp Malaysia revealed the benefits of Plasmacluster Ion technology equipped Sharp Purefit air purifiers and also revealed that celebrity Emily Zying will be new product ambassador for the Sharp Plasmacluster Ion series products in Malaysia. 

What is Sharp Plasmacluster Ion technology

To wit, Sharp’s PCI equipped air purifiers can help improve air quality with its emitted plasmacluster ions that cling to and break down icky pollutants in the air that can cause potential health problems such as virii, mould, bacteria and surprisingly, bad odours too like cigarette smoke too. Another side benefit to PCI tech is that it also helps in improving skin moisture preservation too which is a life saver especially for those with dry skin.

As a proven cornerstone of Sharp’s technologies line-up for their home appliances, Plasmacluster Ion tech has been in use since 2000, with over 100 million units sold across the globe which says quite a bit about how popular it is especially in Japan where parenting magazine ‘TamaHiyo Akachan Goods’ voted it the best air purifier in Japan for a whopping 11 consecutive years.

While the new range of Sharp Plasmacluster Ion (PCI) equipped air purifiers were the main draw of the ‘Japanese Living To Your Home’ showcase, Sharp also shared that their PCI tech is also integrated into other other home appliances as well like refrigerators, washing machines and air conditioners too

What are the Sharp Purefit Air Purifier series

Designed for maximum effectiveness while embodying the classic Japanese philosophy of simplicity, the Sharp Purefit air purifiers are available in a standard Purefit size ideal for larger sized places like living rooms and a more compact Purefit Mini like a bedroom. 

The larger Sharp Purefit Air Purifier has a dual airflow design for faster purification performance and has a more potent Plasmacluster Ion emitting capabilities with a much denser 25,000 ions/cm3  PCI that can offer up to 84 square metres of coverage. It also hosts AiOT capabilities for easy monitoring and management even if an owner is not at home via a handy mobile app. In Malaysia, the Sharp Purefit Air Purifier retails for RM4,699.

For more compact rooms, the Sharp Mini Purefit Air Purifier has a smaller form factor capable of offering up to 30 square metres of coverage though it has a slightly more compact 7,000 ions/cm3 PCI coverage. Like its larger sibling, it can also be remotely managed via an app and can be acquired for RM1,699.

Other Sharp Plasmacluster Ion equipped products 

Also showcased at the Sharp ‘Japanese Living To Your Home’ event was a compact Baby Sharp Air Purifier intended for deployment near a baby’s cot that comes equipped with a night light and 7,000 ions/cm3 density to cover a small 10 square metre radius. In Malaysia, it can be purchased for RM829.

If you’re living in a place that is prone to mosquitoes, the Sharp Air Purifier with Mosquito Catcher is an absolute lifesaver. Featuring a rounded matte black design, the Sharp Air Purifier with Mosquito Catcher has an integrated mosquito catcher that uses a UV light to lure the buggers to their doom for eventual disposal. Not only can it snag mozzies, it can also apparently deal with houseflies too. Naturally, its air purification capabilities take centrestage and it has 7000 ions/cm3 with about 30 square metres of coverage. In Malaysia, it retails for RM1,599.

For those with more compact space requirements, Sharp also released the Personal Space Ion Generator that generates a compact 25,000 ions/cm2 space around a user, charges via USB and can be worn on a lanyard or easily stowed in a backpack or handbag. In Malaysia, the Sharp Personal Space Ion Generator retails for RM699.

For those who spend plenty of time in their cars, the Sharp also issues a model designed to fit in a car cup holder which has a Turbo mode that can emit up to 90,000 ions/cm3, deodorise the area from nasty sweat, food and smoke odours and can also charge via a USB port. Another interesting item that integrates PCI is Sharp’s Pro-flex front load washer that works as both a washing machine and a dryer too with the ability to handle up to 10.5 kg of linen at a time. It integrates PCI tech to offer a unique dry airwash mode, has a steam and scent function for cleaner and better smelling laundry and has a touchscreen for easy navigation. In Malaysia, it costs RM4,599. 

If you’re Sharp has also integrated their Plasmacluster Ion tech into their 410L 2-Door Refrigerator model along with a AG Nano Deodoriser to help tackle nasty smells from stronger smelling food and has J-Tech Inverter technology to optimise energy expenditure. This model retails for RM2,269.

At the Sharp  ‘Japanese Living To Your Home’, the brand also announced that Malaysian actress and celebrity Emily Zying will, moving forward, be product ambassador for their Sharp Plasmacluster Ion line-up in Malaysia.
