Get to be big, bad and blue in Avatar Frontiers of Pandora
If you have ever wanted to experience how it feels to be one of the Na’vi, the tall aliens seen in James Cameron’s Avatar films, you’ll appreciate what Ubisoft’s latest offering has to offer as you get to explore unseen parts of the planet Pandora as a Na’vi warrior. Dubbed as Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, the game was announced at E3 2021 but it’s now finally here and playable in all its glory.
What is Avatar Frontiers of Pandora
Developed by Massive Entertainment, an Ubisoft Studio in collaboration with Lightstorm Entertainment and Disney, Avatar Frontiers of Pandora uses the latest incarnation of the Snowdrop engine and starts off with you as a Na’vi child kidnapped and raised by the Resource Development Authority (RDA). Things go pear shaped when the eponymous Jake Sully goes rogue and you accidentally get tossed into a cryo chamber only to reawaken years later, a stranger in a strange land.
The game takes place on the Western Frontier of Pandora and is played from a first person perspective with the option for two player co-op on top of single player for the campaign. As one of the Na’vi, you get insane durability and skills perfect for navigating the jungles of Pandora as well as unique ‘Na’vi senses’ that give hints and tooltips in the environment.
Seeing as this is an FPS game, you also get a slew of RDA small arms on top of the usual Na’vi hardware like spears and bows. Seeing how large the average Na’vi is, human vehicles are not an option but you can get a banshee flying steed as your personal ride. As the game progresses, players can hunt and craft better gear and weapons and upgrade their pet banshee too.
The game is available on the PS5, Ubisoft+, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon Luna and PC via Ubisoft Connect. For more details check out their official page at https://store.ubisoft.com/sea/avatar–frontiers-of-pandora/60c30ca40d253c1914049e93.html
