Unveiled by the founders of themselves, the esteemed Bruno Belamich and Carlos Rosillo, at the Exchange 106 amidst the grandeur of the vast Kuala Lumpur urban skyline, the new Bell & Ross BR-X5 collection is now available for consideration by horophiles and collectors in Malaysia.
What is the Bell & Ross BR-X5 collection
The new BR-X5 collection is available in three variants which differ in the materials utilised in their design as well as different colourways, watch faces and strap materials. At the top of the proverbial totem pole and made in extremely limited numbers is the BR-X5 Orange with only 500 units in existence and made of titanium alloy.
The mainline models consist of the BR-X5 Ice Blue with an elegant reflective ice blue watch face and your choice of steel and rubber strap options as well as an elegant BR-X5 Black Steel with a distinguished black watch face with steel and rubber strap options.
In terms of design, the BR-X5 collection timepieces features the signature Bell & Ross squarish watch case that features a multi-layered design with a rounded face and the iconic quartet of screws at cardinal points while using exceptional materials in its construction.
In the case of the top of the line BR-X5 Carbon Orange, Bell and Ross have lavished the design with an exquisite 41mm grade 2 titanium case that has a diamond like carbon (DLC) coating along with matte carbon fibre on the upper and lower plates.
The crown guard and screw-down crown are also hewn from titanium with smoked sapphire crystal on the exhibition case-back and sapphire with an anti-reflective coating for the top. In the case of the BR-X5 Ice Blue and Black Steel, Bell & Ross have used sturdy sat-brushed and micro-blasted finished steel which lends the designs a familiar, comforting touch. To be sure, every timepiece in the BR-X5 collection is waterproof down to 100M.
Powering the BR-X5 collection is a BR-CAL 323 automatic mechanical movement developed in partnership with esteemed Swiss mechanical manufacture Kenissi that has a 70-hour power reserve which is more than sufficient to last the weekend.
The watch face is both elegant yet detailed with hour, minute and second hands filled with Super-LumiNova for clarity in dim light conditions with a date window and power reserve indicator that subtly hints to its aeronautical inspiration. Where the BR-X5 Black Steel uses a classy looking black lacquered watch face, the BR-X5 Ice Blue uses a multi-layered lacquered ice blue finish that shimmers in the light, making it look both fun and sporty.
