Chrono Trigger lands on Steam and PC for RM48
Widely considered as one of the most influential and beautiful RPGs in the history of gaming, Chrono Trigger made its debut on the venerable Nintendo SNES and has since made its way to a number of console ports. Today, it has finally landed on the PC via Steam.
For the uninitiated, Chrono Trigger has you played as a red-headed lad called Crono who ends up on an adventure with an ensemble cast of characters that include a talking frog, a crossbow-wielding princess and a sentient steampunk-esque robot. The game has you traversing different eras in time from the distant past to the far future though it still maintains a wonderful charm in its writing and art style that keep it as a timeless classic that’s well worth a whirl. The music itself is a thing of beauty and is well worth the price of entry alone.
The PC port incorporates all the recent updates to the game across its multiple ports and includes animated cutscenes for key parts of the game and has two unique dungeons – DImensional Vortex and Lost Sanctum for more intrepid players.
The Chrono Trigger port to the PC can be played in multiple languages including traditional and simplified Chinese, fully supports controllers and supports up to 1080P resolution. The minimum specs are fairly forgiving and you’ll need an Intel Core i3 2.3GHz, 4GB RAM, 2GB of onboard storage and Intel HD Graphics 530 integrated graphics at the very minimum. All this clocks in at RM48 on Steam and it’s available right now in the link here though if you hustle and acquire it before 2 April you can score a few goodies that include a selection of music, digital liner notes and wallpapers. Naturally, the Steam version also has achievements to unlock too. Saunter on here to find out more:
