The Samsung Galaxy Note FE is cheaper than ever at RM2,199
The Samsung Galaxy Note FE was released a scant few months last year and was a reimagining of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 that featured much of the same hardware though with a slightly smaller albeit safer battery. It’s barely half a day into the new year and Samsung has just announced that the Galaxy Note FE is enjoying a generous price cut from RM2,599 to RM2,199.
The price cut is for the indefinite future and at RM400 off, it’s a sound choice for power users who need a stylus, powerful hardware and a cracking good camera. When we reviewed it at launch, it proved to be everything the erstwhile Note 7 was meant to be and more.
For RM2,199, you have for your money a phone with a generously sized 5.7-inch WQHD+ 1,440 x 2,560 pixel screen and – especially for traditionalists – a front-facing home button cum fingerprint reader. That fingerprint reader isn’t there just to lock the phone – it also supports Samsung Pay too. Powering the Galaxy Note FE is their respectable Exynos 8890 processor, the same SoC that runs on the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge along with 4GB RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. The rear camera is a proven 12-MP camera with a bright F/1.7 aperture and OIS. The battery is a bit smaller at 3,200mAh compared to the Note7 but in our review was easily able to offer all day endurance.
Knocking RM400 off the price makes it all the more tempting but if you’re looking for something a bit more pedestrian, Samsung is also offering price cuts for two other J series phones – the Galaxy J7+ and the Galaxy J7 Pro. The Galaxy J7+ originally cost RM1,599 but enjoys an RM300 price cut to RM1,299. The Galaxy J7 Pro costs RM1,199 but they’ve knocked RM100 off so it now retails for RM1,099.
The Galaxy J7+ is an interesting proposition as one of their first phones with a dual rear camera short of the Galaxy Note8 which came a month or so after it. The Galaxy J7+ has a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED 1080p display, 4GB RAM and 32GB of strorage paired to a Helios P20 octacore processor and a rear dual camera setup which has a 13-MP with F/1.7 apeture paired up with a 5-MP f/1.9 snapper to create bokeh shots with a defocused depth of field.
The new price revisions are good at all authorised dealers and Samsung Experience stores nationwide.
